Cat scooped leaves to add more over her body and then lay still. She could hear crashing from above . . .

When Cat is dropped off at her grandmother's hut in a remote part of the bush,

she suddenly finds herself on her own.

What has happened, and what can she do?

Piecing together clues, Cat starts making sense of things . . . but not the sort of sense she was hoping for.

Cat’s Mountain is about a young girl who must face choices on her own without help from anyone else. Teased at school, she is often thinking about what her friendship group would say or react to a certain situation.

This realistic novel deals with teen issues. I think it is suited to readers aged 12 and older. I enjoyed this book and its realistic feel. Normally I don’t read books of this genre but when I picked it up and started reading I found it immensely interesting.
