Freaks written by Christine Harris is a scary and also funny book to read. It has three stories in one book: Torture Chamber, Wally the Undead and Slime Time.

Torture Chamber Rick Sherman is a new student at a boarding school and Ms Dwale is his teacher. Jordan and Snozza tell Rick to go into his teacher’s room and take back the perfume they stole from her. He’s in but, Ms Dwale is coming. He hides under the table and he sees Ms Dwale pull off her face! Is she what he thinks she is?

Wally the Undead Wally is a vampire, but he doesn’t want to be one. When he goes to school Wally thinks a boy named Simon knows that Wally’s a vampire. Wally doesn’t want anyone to know that his family are all vampires or someone would try to kill them. But his mum said that they’re going to fancy-dress ball at his school and is Simon actually Simon?

Slime Time Paige and her cousins are camping with her uncle Joe. Paige always tells scary stories until she had to go have a shower in the dark. Once she finished she looked back at the shower and black slime came up through the drain pipe. She tells her family about this but everyone thinks she’s crazy. But is she just seeing things?

All of the stories were great I really enjoyed them. This book is most suitable for kids 9 and up so I definitely recommend it to them. The storyline was great with the stories easy to follow and enjoyable to read.
